Creating artificial embryos

The latest discovery of British scientists has become a revolutionary step in the research on life development. Researches managed to create an artificial embryo using mouse stem cells bypassing the traditional fertilization process. Although this embryo can not yet develop into a real mouse, this kind of research has laid the foundation for a new stage in editing the genome.

The researcher enabled a neural network to use imagination by inventing a generative adversarial network (GAN).This system resembles a simplified mathematical model of the human brain. After a series of experiments, it became clear that the neural network is now capable of generating new images. So the system provides neural networks with artificial imagination that they lacked before.

Pixel Buds

Pixel buds are wireless earbuds developed by Google. The price of the innovative headphones is not high - just $159, but their functionality is quite advanced. The device operating in automatic mode is capable of translating real-time conversation into 40 languages. The earbuds are easy to use but they are only compatible with the Google Pixel 2 smartphone. Developers are working on optimizing  the device and removing some shortfalls.

Zero emission gas power plants

Recently, the US energy startup in Houston, Net Power, has successfully launched an innovative zero-emission gas plant. The technology is based on the new gas turbine which is smaller in size than a traditional one. It can fit in a tiny room of 5.6 square meters. However, the size of the turbine does not reduce its power. The device features a unique technology of  efficient heat transmission with the help of the matter known as a supercritical fluid.

Scientists believe that in the nearest future every newborn will receive a personal genetic passport. It will provide important information about possible genetic diseases. Based on this data scientists will be able to identify and successfully treat serious conditions in the early stages of development. This info can be used by pharmaceutical companies for drug testing in order to prevent the development of various diseases.
